Brandt was born and raised in Cape Town in South Africa. Her family moved from Cape Town to Auckland New Zealand with her family in her late teens. Brandt's talent was discovered in Auckland by the local casting director Brandt. Brandt was cast as a part of Naevia for the Starz show Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena.
